Radiation Therapists

In four easy steps, Clarity offers high-throughput IGRT solutions providing pre-treatment corrections well within allotted treatment time in cancer centers where previously pre-treatment IGRT treatment has proven to be time-prohibitive.

3D ultrasound acquisition

Clarity's unique approach to volume acquisition, reconstruction, and assisted segmentation eliminates user dependency. The user-friendly Clarity ultrasound scanning probe makes complete volume capture and data acquisition quick and easy. No time needs to be spent looking for the perfect 2D slice - Reconstruction of the 3D volume is immediately available, providing visual confirmation of whole volume inclusion in the volume study.

Assisted segmentation

Assisted segmentation allows for contouring of the targeted organ's volume in mere seconds. Clarity's powerful assisted segmentation algorithms can extract an organ's 3D surface from ultrasound volumes acquired at planning and treatment times. An equally capable algorithm calculates the shift between those two surfaces, obtaining the best possible couch shift required to bring the patient's organ into alignment prior to treatment – all with minimal effort and without sacrificing throughput.

Patient repositioning

The therapist can confirm alignment visually by means of a 3D-rendered graphical display and numerical readout. The field shape provides an extra degree of confidence and permits fine adjustment of the organ position to ensure adequate dose coverage.

Clarity's real-time feedback capabilities enable the therapist to accurately reposition the tumor and account for daily variations in position, volume and shape. The therapist remains informed of the patient's current position relative to the desired one at all time. This is made possible by Clarity's Couch Position Indicator and 3D-rendered display of planned vs. current organ position. A convivial color-coded graphical display indicates when displacement is within tolerance limits.

R&V image export

The Clarity system can automatically send an ultrasound verification image to the Record & Verify system. The image serves as a final review step by the therapist before export.
