Resonant Medical obtains the CE mark for Restitu™

Montreal, Canada  July 28, 2006  Resonant Medical Inc. announced that it has received CE Mark approval for Restitu™, its 3D ultrasound image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) platform. Resonant will immediately be making Restitu available to cancer centers throughout Europe. Using Restitu, radiation oncologist, medical physicists, and therapists can now more accurately visualize cancerous lesions and organs at risk at time of treatment planning and then successfully correct for daily changes in position, shape and volume over the course of a patient's treatment.

"This important regulatory approval lets us offer Restitu to the European radiotherapy markets and extend the benefits of Restitu to an even greater number of cancer centers and patients worldwide", commented Frédéric Francis, CEO.

The coveted CE mark approval is the latest in a series of regulatory milestones, following FDA 510(k) clearance and Health Canada licensing secured for Restitu, and ISO 13485:2003 certification of the company's facilities and processes. As a result, Restitu has enjoyed widespread adoption in North America, and is presently being used in to treat hundreds of patients in dozens of leading cancer centers across the United States and Canada.

"This further demonstrates our commitment to quality in the delivery of high-performance equipment for the improvement of cancer treatment and continues to build on the level of design and operational excellence achieved to date across the organization", added Luc Sirois, COO.

"Our goal is to have Restitu enable fundamental improvements in radiotherapy planning and delivery. This approval is an important opportunity to help physicians, medical physicists and therapists implement IMRT (intensity-modulated radiotherapy) and IGAR (image-guided adaptive radiotherapy) to make a difference in the life of cancer patients across Europe", adds CTO Dr. Tony Falco, FCCPM.
